Pros: Low Price nice screen
Cons: Poor Technical Support
Summary: After 3 weeks of uneventful use system started to lock up each time I tried to start. Technical support number provided in manual was not available on weekends or after 6 pm. E-mail tech support took 3 days to reply on multiple instances. Still do not have computer working after 4 weeks, now waiting for system disks to try a total reformat and reinstallation. Low price does not make up for hours I have spent trying to get computer to work.

Pros: lasted one year
Cons: poor mother board design
Summary: Very upset with this door stopper. Spent $629 for one year of service. During its' operating life it seemed okay but it died a fast death after one year. Symptoms indicated blue screen of death with a message that stated new hardware was causing an error. Of course there wasn't any new hardware. After repeated tries to restore the hard drive, it just completely shut down. No blue screen, just fan noise. Never to start again. It is now in pieces in an effort to find a used mother board.

Summary: When you see all of the reviews saying "Great laptop", or "Super Buy!", they were probably written a few days after it was purchased (still working). Just give this jewel a little more time - she'll show her true colors. Ask her folks for help, and they just laugh at the fact that she's under your roof now, not theirs, but for 450 bucks, they'll do what they can. Acer, roughly translated, is a verb meaning "to put perfume on a turd", as in "she looked good from a distance, but closer inspection revealed that she was all Acer'ed up".

Pros: I use it for school. I also do some light gaming and handles it fine. Vista runs slow with the 1gb of memory, but I upgraded to 2gb and it runs smoother.
Cons: Sometimes turning it on the screen doesn't light up. I have to force a shutdown and restart till the screen lights up. I put XP on it because Vista crashed. XP runs faster but drains the battery considerably compared to Vista.
Summary: I am putting Windows 7 RC today. We will see that goes
