Summary: I spent 2 weeks researching which flat panel lcd monitor to get.
I was looking for something that wouldn't break the bank but will also be decent. This monitor does break the bank but it didn't mine. I previously had the Sony SDM-M81 18" LCD. I was very disappointed with it and it ghosted alot.
I got this Samsung 960bf from Best Buy. It was the last unit and was discontinued. It was marked down from $330 to $210. I got it for $200 'cos it was an open package.
I am very impressed with the image quality on this thing. I didn't want to go with the more affordable but lesser in quality Acer series.
Whether I'm playing computer games, watching movies or working with photoshop, I almost want to lick the screen.
I got this monitor, very nervous that the image quality would disappoint me but I'm totally impressed. I was also concerned that the white shinny plastic frame would reflect in the dark or would look too shinny during the day.
Once I plugged in, the screen auto adjusted (about a 6 second process, only happens the first time its plugged in). This is because the monitor has only one button: the blue smudged led power button.
I also like the frame earlier mentioned. It is narrow compared to my other sony which seemed to be 1.5" wide or so. This helps a little if you're gonna have two of these side by side for a dual monitor setup.
Here comes the bad part:
The bundled software keeps crashing. In fact, I haven't gotten it to run. Thats the only way to adjust the screen settings etc but the software bundle is just unstable. I downloaded and reinstalled and tried everything but to no avail.
I was lucky that this monitor was smart enough to adjust itself to what seem to be optimum settings.
For $400+, its pricey and you could get something of similar size and quality from a different company but the sleek look and feel of this monitor will not disappoint you regardless of the bad bundled software. -

Cons: Rubbish software
Summary: I am running a new built pc and have spared no expense or anything inside it. Got this great monitor and installed driver. Restarted and blue screen, unistalled driver and installed software on disc, restarted and blue screen. Not very good on Samsung behalf. If anyone has a fix it would be greatly appreciated

Cons: Lack of customization options without installing the drivers
Summary: All in all, great monitor but I have a question about it. Is there any way that I could hook my PS2 up to it (using analog cables), as i've ran out of space on my tv? Any answers help, thanks.

Summary: With $100 in BestBuy holiday money, it was a simple manner of finding their best value, and at $429 srp, this is it! The incl. dvi to dvi cord made install a snap, so in minutes I was enjoying Call of Duty 2 max'd out w/ no ghosting or blurring...The Lost Coast HL2 demo was simply stunning @ 75fps no image corruption what-so-ever! After an evening w/ this, my 20" crt (nec) went straight to the basement! Check this one out before you decide!

Summary: Santa really provided a nice gift under the tree with this monitor. To look at the case, it is sleek, hip and fresh. The 360 degree "Magic Rotation" is hot! The picture quality is outstanding. The 4ms specification is one of the fastest I have found. For the money, this seemingly is the best monitor on the market.
