"THE sound quality is excellent, but a few flaws keep it from being PERFECT." on by sHieZaN

Pros: superior mid and high range. excellent build quality, good sound isolation

Cons: weak bass, cords are noisy

Summary: these earbuds have breathtakingly crisp and clear highs and mids. so far the only problems ive noticed is that the bass is slightly weak, but the superior highs and mids cover that up very nicely. also, the cord makes loud vibration sounds when it is rubbed against my clothes, but its not too big of a problem. the sound isolation is very satisfying.
dont buy these from normal stores. i bought these from sumerstore on ebay for 193 total after shipping and tax brand new.
just buy this, and you will not regret it. you will be as satisfied as i am.

"solid earphones now in black" on by axia

Pros: sound quality is amazing, black to match my ipod and psp

Cons: retails for more than my ipod

Summary: the white ipod earphones died on me after 4 months of use (my second set), so i decided to get an after market one. after reading about shure products i was ready to buy the e2g, but i found e4g at a great price while searching for the e2g. i received the earphones last week and i'm truly amazed with the e4g. after trying several of the sleeves i found small soft flex sleeves fit me the best. they might come second after the foam sleeves in sound isolation but i found they are easier to insert and are reusable. now i listen to my ipod at less than half of the volume i used to listen. they are pretty comfortable too, enough that i fell asleep couple of times with them on. over all if you don't need skull numbing bass these earphones might be the ones for you. oh and make sure you don't pay full retail price of $299, if you look around a little bit, they can be yours for far less.

"Great sound, poor reliability" on by rozbudz32

Pros: Best sound quality ear buds I've ever used

Cons: High price, short product life

Summary: I have reason to believe that there is a design flaw that causes the right earbud to die. My first set of these great sounding headphones was replaced under the 2 year warrantee by Shure after only 5 months, when the right earbud suddenly stopped working. The replacement set lasted 2 years and 7 months and had the same failure mode. For the price, I want a product that will last longer than that.

"Terrific sound. Best buds I've used." on by jmandoman

Pros: Cancels out all external sound.

Cons: Cancels out all external sound.

Summary: Great sound reproduction. Sounds like I'm in the concert hall. Blocks out all street noise which is great for listening but can be dangerous walking in busy environments or inconvenient when you miss an important announcement in the airport. Love it on the plane, though.

"Brilliant, you wont regret buyin these" on by mors-uk

Pros: Looks, Rounded sound, build quality

    Cons: Not enough foam tips?

Summary: These IEM's are brilliant, let me start with that. You can get them for a really good price now (£90 from Amazon) and they are excellent value for money. I traded in my Ety ER6i's and boy do they show them up. Everything about them is better.

The sound from these are very level and rounded, and when you get a good seal with what ever tips suit you best (getting a good seal with any IEM is tricky) then the bass really lights up, awesome bass. I thought these were a little bass shy untill I got a good seal (with the foamies, I think they're the best tips probably) then the bass lit my head up.

You get a great solid material carry case, and a good range of tips. But what I think is the best accessory provided is a couple of rubber over the ear moulds that these can fix into - Ideal for in the gym or jogging. These things will not move once they are in the over the ear holder. A brilliant idea by Shure to provide them :)

I'd give these a 10 if I didn't know better, but I hate to say it, I also bought the Shure E500/SE530's and they are utterly brilliant. They put these in the shade and that is no mean feat. I've kept these earphones for jogging/the gym and use my top of the range Shure's for round the house/travelling/work.

The sound isolation from these is top notch.

The only competitor their price range that might give them a run for their money is the Ultimate Ears Super.Fi.Pro.5 which I hear are also excellent, but maybe a bit bass heavy.

I think these are the best overall IEM in their price range.

    Definately recommended.

    Buy them!!
