    "isolated case???" on by dondada73

Pros: excellent sound, price dropping , aesthetically pleasing, light

    Cons: possible lemon

Summary: I say i hope mine is an isolated case because i saw this TV in the store and i was sold. that being said, mine didn't work right out of the box. Picture was blurry and pixelated from all sources. Originally i thought there may be something wrong with my HDTV cable box, but after bypassing the box, testing with DVD only, the problem still existed. Apparently there is something wrong with the signal processor. So far, Sharp customer service has been great. they were available on Sunday night and quickly referred my case to an area repair shop who will make a housecall. They claim 9/10 problems like this are fixed on the spot and if not they will replace the TV. It's just a shame that i got a lemon and the retailer completely washed their hands of the whole thing...and it hadn't even been 48 hours!!

    Updated
well here it is 2 weeks after my TV was picked up for repair and i still don't have it back. The technicians who picked up the TV were pretty rude and insisted nothing was wrong with the picture quality. Well, last i checked the customer was right, the picture looked worse than my old 27" tube TV. As a matter of fact, the only way i could convince these idiots was to drag that old TV out and reconnect it so they could see. Only then did they believe me. So now I'm playing the waiting game and I keep getting different dates of completion every time i call them (initially they told me 5 days MAX) So now i am basically going directly to Sharp with my ultimatum : either they get these yahoos to finish up the job, or SHarp will be sending me a new replacement TV. Just like some reviewers said about SHarp customer service, they're courteous and unlike some others my phone wait wasn't that long (on a sunday night no less), but their "authorized" repair dealerships are suspect at best. VERY slow and very unprofessional....
    Updated
so i've had my TV back for over a month now and I am just learning to live with it each day. I still stand by the fact that there was a problem when i first received this TV, but the more and more i've read and researched i've discovered that compressed SD signals to the these HDTVs pretty much sucks and some cable companies are worse than others. I'm Time Warner NYC and well, they're bad to begin with so to me it was to be expected that their compressed signals would also be some of the worst. Like dublinjohn said, the picture from HDTV broacasts is amazing though. I'll be happy when TWC starts offering more HDTV channels.

"Great tv, but a couple problems" on by mgoblue6

Pros: Better than 720p resolution, extremely good on-screen menu, decent amount of inputs

Cons: Lacks computer inputs, could use more component inputs, faster switching inbetween video inputs

Summary: I own the LC-32DA5U, not the above version but I do believe they are almost identical in terms of parts but not in the color of the tv. (even the style is the same)

This is an excellent tv knowing that it's from sharp.

The resolution is amazing and there is very little ghosting on the screen.

The response time is excellent for an lcd which is great, since i love to play games and eventually my ps3 will be on this tv in november.

The only problem, like i've stated before is that it lacks computer inputs. Luckily for me my ati graphics card has a component video output and comcast gives a generous length of cable.

Even the speakers are pretty loud and clear.

The remote is extremely large, and if you have other items, i suggest an unviersal remote.

But overall this is an excellent tv, and if you can buy one get one. (ebay coupons, it saved me nearly 150 dollars)

"Bottom line, this is the best tv compared to any others for the price and for the size." on by MohaimenKazi

Pros: Has very good speakers. Very loud. Picture is perfect. The menu screen is perfect to set up.....

    Cons: none at all

Summary: This TV has a very good picture quality compared to many other TV's. It is very sharp. I don't have HDTV but I use Dish Network. From where I seat, the picture is perfectly clear. As for DVD...I have it hooked up to a Denon 1920 and boy, the TV has stunning picture! I am waiting to try this with the new BluRay that will be coming this summer. People, I will tell you to buy this TV anyday. As for me, I got very lucky and got a $160 off from $1599.

"I'm very pleased" on by Tommart

Pros: Great picture, user friendly controls, easy setup, tuner

Cons: Only one HDMI, average audio, not many ways to expand 4/5 picture to 16/9

Summary: It was up and running 15 minutes after taking out of the box. Great picture--even with motion. I like the location of the controls (on top) and I like the appearance of the unit.
Had to connect my DVD player using the component inputs even though my DVD player has a HDMI output. The 32D4U only has one hdmi which is used by the cable box.
There's 3 ways to expand a 5/4 screen to 16/9 widescreen. Stretch makes people too fat and Zoom2 zooms too much so we never use them. Zoom1 works fine, so in my opinion, there's only one way to expand the picture. Wish it had a "smart stretch" (more stretching at the ends tahn in the center) or a combination of one-half zoom and one-half stretching. I'd buy this Sharp again.

"Great value for less than 2g's" on by dublinjohn

Pros: Black case, plenty of hookups, HDMI

    Cons: 16x9, setup

Summary: Bought it when Good Guys was going out of business for less than $1600. Great looking black chassis with plenty of hookups in the back for inputs. Great sound with a lot of bass. I noticed that for DVD's the 16x9 has bars on the top and bottom in normal mode, the option to stretch distorts the picture a bit. Setup was a bit buggy with trying to detect digital HDTV air channels. Also the interface would act buggy sometimes like turning on the tv or continuing to display the input info every few seconds. The picture is awesome for HDTV broadcasts.
