"spectacular widescreen 1080p with great colors and blacks!" on by braggi42

Pros: GREAT SETUP BY THE FACTORY OUT OF THE BOX. three hdmi inputs!

    Cons: NONE SO FAR

Summary: i read c-nets review and i think they had a defective example to judge. i bought this projection set FOR MY WIFE reguardless of their findings. oh i am sure they reported what they saw on that set. i researched tvs of all formats & looked them over in stores. based on picture quality, 1080p resolution, features, user reviews, pro reviews and price, this was my choice and i have not been disappointed. i have a great home theater also with d-vhs,blu-ray and HD dvd, 2 denon hi-end 7.1 reciever's and dish network HD with voom HD programing. also a sony vpl vw-50 1080P projector and da-lite screen projecting a 150" widescreen image so i am not a moron here! the pt-61lcz70's sharpness, colors, resolution, and blacks i saw were very impressive out of the box. i saw "NO BANDS ACROSS THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN". SHADOW DETAIL WAS AS GOOD AS my projector. 1080P MOVIES FROM A SONY BLU-RAY PLAYER ARE ASTOUNDING WITH NO ARTIFACTS. i have not changed any panasonic factory settings. the 5 year warrenty on the lifi lamp with no electrodes is a industry first. my advice here is you won't be sorry buying this projection widescreen 1080p tv and you will be getting a great buy!! oh and i am retired and never worked for panasonic!!!!

"Just Bought One And Love it !!!" on by rglassma

Pros: Fast Start Up, Flexible Controls, Bright Picture, Low Maintenance!!!

    Cons: CNET Review

Summary: I just bought one of these sets and my whole family loves it. Of course we only paid 1450.00 for the set and we are very satisfied with the purchase. After reading what CNET had to say about it, and then seeing it at the store and comparing it visually with other sets, I think you guys are full of hot air !!!

Let's see, 1450.00, no bulb replacement, great picture, fast startup, flexible controls and plenty of connectivity.

There may be better sets, but having to spend 1,000.00 extra dollars on bulb replacement over the life of the TV, I could have purchased alot more TV. I'll stick with what we have.

I'd recommend it.. I bought it...

"LIFI is great" on by ostate

Pros: LIFI engine, good picture on SD channels

Cons: no PIP; built in speakers are decent but not great

Summary: I actually bought the 56" version, and I believe CNET's review model must have been defective. I didn't have any of the issues they mentioned (horizontal bars, poor black level, etc).

"Great Deal For The Price" on by Gadget Junkie 72

Pros: Excellent Quality with the Right Content

Cons: Needed lots of tuning out of the box.

Summary: Purchsed this unit at Costco. Price was $1250.00 Including the stand (which was a breeze to assemble). I also own a 50" Panasonic Plasma 1080P which cost a lot more, and I think the cheaper projection actually gives it a run for its money. I would suggest that if you are looking for a good HDTV and are on a tight budget that you consider this unit. Also if you are a Costco member, you automatically get a two year warranty at no extra cost. *something to consider when factoring total cost of ownership*.
