"Plays lots of MP3's" on by steve u
Pros: Cheap with High capacity, 8+ hours battery
Cons: Navigation tedious, weak ear buds, ear jack angle
Summary: Good: Plug this into a quality headphone or good computer speakers and rock out. Play albums. repeat. does not do play lists so you best organize by folder using windows or Linux file manager. 1 battery will last a 8 hour shift with Sony MDR headphone at a 2/3 volume setting.
Bad: Battery cover falls off if USB cap not in place. Headphone plug sticks out side making a simple slip into a pocket awkward. -
"Cheap But Does The Job" on by mp3tech
Pros: small, good price, okay sound quality, can read .txt files, recording, equalizer, can be used as a thumb drive as well
Cons: controls are a little glitchy at times, buttons and screen a little fragile
Summary: I bought this device in 2006. It was my first MP3 player. I really enjoyed it. It is a little cheap but plays music, records and can read .txt files. Don't try reading an ebook on it though. One of the features that I really like is how you put music on it. You just drag and drop what you need on it and play it. That is way better than going through the hassle of music software and all that. It plays MP3 and WMA formats. I also like to use it as a portable thumb drive. It still works today except for the fact that I had to solder the volume buttons back on and it has lots of scratches. It was a overall good MP3 player.

"Not the best MP3 player" on by ITMan51
Pros: Low price; compact size
Cons: controls consistently lock up
Summary: I purchased a Mach Speed 1GB MP3 Player from eCOST in December 2006 and gave this item as a Christmas gift. From the moment we opened the package, we experienced slow responses to key functions; which I now believe to be an inherent characteristic of this brand. This extremely slow response to key commands has resulted in the device locking up numerous times, necessitating removal of the battery and re-initializing the device again and again. Now, the device will only advance from the main menu to the first song; but it will not play the .mp3 file. I asked eCOST to investigate and they never responded after 3 follow-ups. Will now deal with other online retailers.

"Great little device" on by kiteline
Pros: Excellent recorder with a simple USB connection to transfer files
Cons: Instructions a little challenging
Summary: Bought this as a digital recorder and it exceeded my expectations. Being able to transfer files via USB makes it an exceptional device. For the money it cannot be beat.
