"It is a nicely decigned product which stands out while comparing with other brands" on by asadsurg
Pros: Small sie, 3CCDs, joy stick, SC card support,
Cons: needs firewire to download edited movie from computer
Summary: I recently bought this product for prepartion of my presentations. It was really hard to decide which one to buy.
Its picture quality is good. Like many produts there is a differece of price upto 200 dollars depending upon whether you buy it online or from a store. Camera doesn't come with a memmory card. Only still pictues can be stored in the card. You need to have firewire link ( cable and fireward pc card - if it not already installed on your computer) to down load video from the computer.
Video can be uploaded to the computer from the camera wtih usb cable.3CCD gives good picture results.Image stablization is electronic.Optic zoom is 10x. Which is ok for routine work. Sound quality is also impressive.
Overall I liked this camera.

"PV- GS 180 Overall - Great!" on by jarod_dyess
Pros: 3ccd, tape input @ top, EIS, manual focus, 16:9 format, accessory shoe, mic jack
Cons: stationary VF, small handstrap, no EIS in 16:9
Summary: This is a very neat little camera (and when I say little, I mean little, the dimensions are small). It has Image stabilization, 3ccds (which is awesome for the price), and one feature I find useful is that it opens (for the tape)on the top right side, not the bottom so you can change tapes w/o taking it off a tripod. It has manual focus and other settings too. And it actually has a mic jack which is good in the 1st place. But it has crappy things too. The mic is sufficient for at home, but for anything else it sucks, and from my experience the "zoom mic" doesnt really work too well. It needs more buttons, because trying to turn certain things off and on are a hassle to go through the menu. It must be made for either kids or women, because the hand-holding strap doesn't fit very well for guys. The plug-ins for mic, AV/headphones, and USB connections is inconveniently located too close to where your hand would go. The viewfinder is stationary so unless you're directly behind it at eye level you cant see though it. You can't have wide screen 16:9 format on w/ the EI stabilizer. Kind of a small LCD.

"A good consumer camcorder that packs some pro features!" on by feldmandigital
Pros: 3 CCD, Video quality, Low-light performance, Audio options, Headphone jack, Manual Controls
Cons: Fake widescreen option, no focus ring
Summary: I've had this camcorder twice and it's has done a great job for me. It's light and compact and supplies plenty of control.

"Rating 6 out of 10. Good video quality, not easy to capture to PC" on by k.takahashi
Pros: Easy control and reasonably good still photo quality
Cons: Hard to capture to PC for editing
Summary: I went through a few available description of this camcorder as well as asking at the store before purchasing and no mention for need of Firewire connection. Panasonic Customer Service (Canada) also informed, after I have trouble, that I need Firewire connection. Even Manual did not say. I could capture only using Windows Movie Maker convert to .wmv before using other video editor. Poor customer service and product description.
