Professional graphic designers and photographers need a lot more than a display with decent image quality and a pretty exterior. After all, a properly calibrated monitor could mean the difference between chartreuse and spring green--and whether you get that next contract. Traditionally, CRTs have been the most dependable choice for graphics pros. Now, a few companies make LCDs that challenge the status quo, but they do so at a hefty premium.
