While it's fun and exciting to have the latest and greatest technology, sometimes it's better to hold off on new gear until it's proven itself--or is made to a standardized specification. In the case of wireless home networking, 802.11g routers are still solid, dependable workhorses, and they usually cost a lot less than the new pre-N gear. The G routers listed here are some of the best network backbones we've tested in our Labs.
