The Treo family album | ||||
![]() Bonnie Cha Senior associate editor | January 24, 2006 It could be argued that the most notorious family in the smart-phone community is the Treo family. The Palm Treo 650 has reigned as the godfather of these cell phone/PDA devices, thanks to its winning combination of a sleek form factor and a solid feature set. With its built-in QWERTY keyboard, its sharp screen, and its productivity tools, it's an offer that mobile professionals can't refuse--and one that the carriers can't either, as Cingular, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint all carry the phone. Late last year, Palm also shook up the smart-phone world by making a deal with the enemy: Microsoft. However, in the end, the Palm Treo 700w made good business sense, successfully marrying Palm's hardware with the Windows Mobile operating system. And now that Research in Motion's legal troubles might have its BlackBerry devices swimming with the fishes, the Treo family could see even more business. Read on to meet the whole family and see if one is right for you. More resources
