After lagging behind Verizon for most of 2005, Sprint finally introduced its own 3G service in early November. Despite being second to market, however, Sprint quickly emerged as a serious competitor to Verizon by offering a broad selection of content and a solid choice of handsets. Sprint also rolled out its Power Vision multimedia service, and it beat Verizon by launching the cell phone world's first wireless music download service. We've had a chance to review Sprint's new 3G phones, and for the most part, we like what we see. Inspired by the Motorola Razr V3, the Samsung MM-A900 sports a cool, slim style, along with an MP3 player and a megapixel camera. The Samsung MM-A920 offers a more understated design, while the Samsung MM-A940 has a swiveling display. Finally, if you're a Sanyo fan, the Sanyo MM-9000 brings 3G services to a signature Sanyo handset. More resources

| Review summary | Though the Samsung MM-A900 is unlikely to win over the most hard-core Razr fans, it's still a compelling and promising alternative to the popular Motorola phone. | The attractive Samsung MM-A920 comes with a great selection of features, but we wish the offerings were more refined. | The well-performing Samsung MM-A940 does a good job of executing its broad range of multimedia features. | The Sanyo MM-9000 flip phone is a good choice for a 3G phone, but better options exist in Sprint's stable. |
