A complete home-theater system starts with an excellent HDTV, and for $3,000, you can get something special. Sure, you can find bigger plasmas in the under-50-inch category for around the same price as the Panasonic TH-42PHD8UK, but none of them scored as highly on our ratings for picture quality. To complement the dreamy picture, we chose Sony's most affordable Dream system and rounded out the package with Logitech Harmony's excellent 688 remote control. Home-theater bundles for every budget:
