One-tree car
Lexus designed the interior to be comfortable and familiar to existing Lexus customers. There is increased use of soundproofing materials, and the body structure is designed to counter vibrations and cancel noise. All the wood in each car comes from a single tree, the better to match grain patterns in all pieces, and Lexus paid obsessive attention to the door-closing sound. Instruments are Optitron LED backlit for optimum visibility. A wood-and-leather steering wheel comes standard.
