Beyond the prominent FCHV labeling all over the car, the exterior looks like a standard Toyota Highlander. However, substituting the engine and the gas tank with a fuel cell stack and four hydrogen tanks increases the weight. Toyota compensates by replacing steel exterior panels with aluminum. Despite this measure, the FCHV weighs 200 pounds more than a standard Highlander.
