The dashboard of the FCHV looks very similar to that of the hybrid version of the Toyota Highlander. The central LCD shows a dynamic power flowchart, similar to the one found in the Prius (although lacking an icon for the gas engine). Our test-drive was short and only around city streets, but the FCHV felt extremely smooth in acceleration, due to the electric motor, and nimble enough in traffic, even with its extra 200 pounds. It's very easy to forget that you're driving a candidate for the future of automotive technology.
