The new Yahoo Mobile: Information skyscraper
Yahoo launched a brand-new application for the iPhone and Web on Wednesday, and announced an upcoming release for Java phones. We've got images of the beta Web version here. The new Yahoo Mobile stacks together the individual Lego pieces of the company's mobile application strategy, delivering, in effect, a tall tower of mobile access that gets you to search, news, e-mail, and sports, financial, and social RSS in one long drink. (On the iPhone it's more broken down by individual screens, and the Java version will feature widgets.) Start exploring at mobile.yahoo.com from any HTML-ready device browser.
The geo-informed, text-only OneSearch bar rides at the top of the app, with photo-rich top stories below in a navigable carousel.
