Panasonic ZT60 plasma
Five years ago Pioneer released the Kuro, still arguably one of the best televisions ever. But its high price kept it out of the mainstream, and the company wound up its TV division the following year. However, in 2013, finally, we'll see several TVs that will challenge what is still our reference display for image quality. The first and likely the "cheapest" of the successors is the Panasonic ZT60, and based on a hands-on at CES 2013, this TV promises OLED-like black levels at less than a quarter of the price. Whether or not it's one of Panasonic's final plasma TVs, however, remains to be seen.
Expected shipping date: April 2013
