'The Avengers'
I've avoided putting too many superhero movies on the list, but "The Avengers" certainly deserves a spot both for its entertainment value and as an audiovisual feast. A good portion of the movie is dark -- literally -- which takes away from some of the video quality, but it does make for a good torture test for your TV's or projector's black levels and ability to display shadow detail. I'd actually give higher marks for the DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 mix, which is truly outstanding and makes for an excellent way to show off your home-theater system.
Note: The link below goes to the four-disc 3D version of the movie, which also includes the 2D Blu-ray and costs the same as the 2D-only Blu-ray package. Even if you don't have a 3D TV, you might as well get it in case you one day get one.
