Apple iPod Shuffle (third generation)

The controls are now integrated into the headphone cord. (The downside, of course, is that you're stuck with the default earbuds that Apple provides, or you need to invest in an adapter.) A brief click on the center toggles play and pause; a double-click skips to the next song; and the plus/minus controls volume.
