What's on deck in the tech and gadget world for the autumn of 2009? That question is more easily asked than answered. While we've listed several key products that have already been revealed--some as far back as the January Consumer Electronics Show--there are plenty of other products still under wraps. But thanks to the Internet, keeping secrets is harder than ever. To that end, we've collected the best unannounced, hoped-for, and hinted-at products. Some of these are shoe-ins for official release, others are pure vaporware--and some of them are longstanding rumors that have recently been confirmed--but all of them have been burning up message boards and blogs for the past few months.
Apple Tablet
The rumor: Perhaps the most coveted nonexistent product in recent memory. Apple fans have been longing for this product, which is rumored to be everything from a supersized iPod Touch to a full-on MacBook with a multitouch screen. Unlike eBook readers from Amazon and Sony, the Apple product would be a full-fledged media tablet, usable for everything from watching movies to browsing the Web. But don't expect Netbook-like pricing: most pundits put the price of such a device in the $800 range.
Status: Extremely likely--but it was a no-show at Apple's September 9 event. We expect to see it eventually, but probably not until 2010.
