Dear CNET members,
Bluetooth headsets for cell phones are awesome! They're great for hands-free talking and also saving your arms from a phone-holding workout. However cool a technology gadget it is, though, I don't know what it is about Bluetooth headsets that makes me want to scream "dork" (no offense to the folks who use them, which includes my wife). Maybe it has something to do with the size of it when it's worn on one's ear. No wait, it's that bright, flashing blue light when it's transmitting. OK, I think I've got it. It's because I always mistake Bluetooth headset users as crazy, because without seeing the headset on their ear, I would just think they were talking aloud to themselves. So what's your opinion on Bluetooth headsets? Cool or dorky? Do you personally use one yourself? How do you like it? Do you care what other people think? I know this topic is a bit superficial, but hey, it's all in good fun. So join in the topic discussion and let us know what you think of these cool (or not), Bluetooth headsets.
Speaking of Bluetooth headsets, our upcoming Ask the Editors Live chat event--this Thursday at 11 a.m. Pacific time (2 p.m. Eastern)--is all about Bluetooth headsets and cell phone accessories! So if you need some buying advice or have any questions in regard to this topic, join us in the forum. Our host CNET editor, Nicole Lee, will be there to answer your questions. Don't miss out.

This week's hot topic:

Bluetooth headsets: Dorky or cool?
It goes without saying that Bluetooth is a cool technology. To be able to stream anything over the air, whether it is our voice, music, or a data file, is quite nifty and convenient. But Bluetooth headsets themselves draw mixed reactions. Some people think they're dorky, while other people consider them the height of hipness. So what do you think? Here is what some of our members said.
"Still Dorky"
"I frankly like the idea of a bluetooth handset. It's truly hands free and the voice and sound quality are now on par with wired sets. But whenever I see someone using one, I always..." (Read more)
"true hands free"
"I am an older person. Don't really care what others think about what they look like. Hands-free is what it is all about. Talk and drive, work whatever! Also, they work well when I'm on my..." (Read more)
"Depends on the dork"
"Bluetooth headsets are way cool, but Loud Cell Phone Talker Guy in line at Chipotle is going to be dorky no matter what..." (Read more)

Jammie Thomas, the Minnesota woman who last week was ordered to pay the recording industry $222,000 for copyright violations related to sharing songs, got a lot of people talking. Some said this is a step forward in setting an example for illegal file sharing, yet some countered that the RIAA is just money-hungry and a bully by forcing people to pay up.
