Dear CNET members,
Happy Friday, folks! Unfortunately, the flu season hit our family early and hard this year. For the past several days, I've been at home, sick as a dog. I'm just glad that my two kids and wife, who have been sick since early last week, are getting better, leaving me to finish up. Even as I'm writing this newsletter to you, I'm in no mood to do anything else. I'm usually not the one to get sick, but this has been the worst illness I can remember. So, please take some flu precautions, and take care of yourselves.
This week, rather than present the regularly scheduled member Q&A, I'm going to make this newsletter edition short and sweet, and change the format a bit so I can get rested up and back to my normal, healthy state.
This week, I want to discuss e-mail etiquette. A couple of weeks ago, in light of the CNET Community Hot topic newsletter discussing cell phone manners, I received an e-mail from a member saying he just received a scolding for "replying to all" to tell fellow recipients that the facts of that previous e-mail were untrue. Here is the e-mail he sent to me.
I thought this topic was very interesting, as e-mail is a big part of our daily lives at work and home. And while there are no formal rules for e-mail etiquette, I wanted to share this with you, so we can discuss this member's experience and talk about e-mail etiquette in general. So, if you have some advice for this member or just want to share with us the dos and don'ts about using e-mails, post them in this topic thread. I'm sure it would be helpful to many who are getting their feet wet in the e-mail world or to serve as a reminder for e-mail veterans to be mindful of our e-mailing habits.
