The latest cool cell phones from Verizon Wireless

Nicole Lee Nicole Lee, Associate Editor February 19, 2009

Verizon Wireless has a wide selection of devices, from high-end handsets to more basic models for making calls. Here are some of the latest hot models. Motorola ruled the roost in late 2008 with the Motorola Kraze ZN4 (with its unique touch interface), the attractive Motorola Rapture VU30, and the simple Motorola VU204. Following that trend, if you want a lot of high-end features like EV-DO and GPS in a simple flip form factor, the Samsung Renown fits the bill. And perhaps our favorite of the recent crop of Verizon Wireless phones is the LG VX8360, which has all the high-end Verizon V Cast features with EV-DO, GPS, and stereo Bluetooth, in a compact and affordable clamshell.

The Bottom Line The Motorola Krave ZN4 accomplishes something few other cell phones do: it's unique, easy to use, and it performs well. The Motorola VU204 is an easy-to-use cell phone with a simple design and good call quality. It offers a few extra features, as well. Though it remains a midtier offering, the LG VX8360 is still a great multimedia clamshell phone with excellent audio performance.
