New Samsung cell phones

Samsung is never one to rest on its laurels. While some manufacturers put out a mere trickle of new cell phones, Samsung always has a deluge of models. We've rounded up the company's latest models here. As is usually the case, Verizon Wireless nabbed the fanciest model of the bunch. The Samsung Glyde offers a full touch screen, an alphabetic keyboard, and a heavy feature set. Though the powerful device is based on the pretty slider design of the Samsung SGH-F700, we weren't completely impressed. The call quality was superior, but the handset is too small to do its touch interface justice. AT&T launched the Samsung Access, which is one of two devices to support its AT&T Mobile TV service. It performs well but we were hoping for more features and a flashier design. Alltel offers a decent music phone with its Samsung Muse. It's an easy-to-use phone with satisfying features and good call quality, though its flip phone design is rather ordinary. Finally, we looked at the Samsung Armani. Available as an unlocked handset in the United States, the Armani is a very pretty phone but it misses a couple key features and its touch interface was a bit tricky to use.

Review summary The Samsung Glyde is a powerful cell phone with decent performance, but its touch-screen design and controls don't complement its features. Though it offers a new AT&T feature, the Samsung Access isn't a compelling alternative to the flashier LG Vu. Though its design is nothing special, the Samsung Muse is a decent choice for an Alltel music phone. The Samsung Armani is one supersexy phone but it falls short of perfection due to lackluster features and a tricky user interface.
