In a world where camera phones are now available in the 2- to 5-megapixel range, the humble VGA camera phone is left in the dust picking up the slack. However, there's still room for basic camera phones--if you want a phone primarily for making calls, you might still opt for a simple VGA camera to take snapshots. Maybe you want to take a picture of your parking spot so you remember where you parked, or you want to take a picture of something you saw in the store for later comparison--there are times when photo quality isn't as important as simply the capability to take a photo.
