LG touch-screen phones

Nicole Lee Nicole Lee, Associate Editor October 15, 2009

Ever since the LG Prada debuted back in 2007, LG has introduced several touch-screen phones each year, becoming one of the top touch-screen feature phone makers in the country. Though most of them appear to go to Verizon Wireless, there are a few that make it to other carriers as well.

The LG Versa and the LG enV Touch are two that are offered by Verizon Wireless. The Versa can be a standalone touch-screen phone, but it also comes with optional modules like a keyboard and a gamepad controller for added versatility. The enV Touch went the messaging phone route with two displays (one touch screen and one not) plus a full QWERTY keyboard.

Another LG messaging phone this year was the LG Xenon, which has a 2.8-inch touch-screen display and is available from AT&T. Though it is not a nationwide carrier, U.S. Cellular managed to snag two LG touch-screen handsets this year, which are the LG Tritan and the LG Bliss. The Tritan and the Bliss have similar features, but the Tritan has a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard while the Bliss does not.

The Bottom Line If you can live with the clunky Web browser, the LG Versa is a very good touch-screen phone with the added versatility of optional modules. The LG enV Touch's combination of great design and top-notch features makes it one of the top Verizon Wireless phones we've ever seen. Despite a few problems, the LG Xenon is one of the better messaging phones we've seen, plus it has a cool touch-screen interface and plenty of features. The LG Tritan is a great multimedia touch-screen phone with a nice full keyboard for messaging. The LG Bliss is a good midrange touch-screen handset for U.S. Cellular.
