The latest plasma Prizefight for the claim of Best HDTV is over, and the doughty Pioneer Elite Kuro remains standing--despite its certain disappearence from store shelves soon enough. Its challenger this time around was Panasonic's TC-PV10 series, which acquitted itself well but didn't quite overcome the Kuro. Of course the Panasonic is destined to be the best when Kuro rides off into the sunset, until another worthy competitor comes along.
The Sony KDL-55XBR8 still reigns as the best LED-backlit LCD, out-black-leveling its Samsung rival, the LN46A950. The two major brands also vie for the title of "Best projector," a title that currently goes to Samsung.
