So you've managed to get your hands on one of the world's most popular MP3 players, the Apple iPod Nano. This sleek and stylish device will keep you plenty entertained for sure, but you'll soon realize there's a lot more fun to be had if you move beyond the confines of what -comes in the box. For one thing, those stock Apple earbuds aren't the best-sounding--or most comfortable--headphones to be had. The first step is to upgrade, and our top headphones list is an excellent place to start.
Next, consider protecting your investment or even dressing it up a bit. Belkin's Grip Vue is a hybrid case providing hardcore protection with a grippiness more akin to a silicone sleeve. It comes in a variety of translucent colors that won't fully hide the Nano's style. Or if you want something with a little more flavor, check out the Griffin iClear Sketch, which adds a graffitilike overlay that complements the player's existing color scheme. You can choose from 12 different designs.
Also, the Nano in particular is a perfect workout companion, thanks to its solid-state flash memory and compact design. Keep it out of the way with the DLO Action Clip, which has a two-in-one design for either clipping to your clothing or strapping to your arm. Or consider tracking your fitness with the excellent Nike + iPod Sport Kit. And if you're really wanting to pipe tunes out to your bedroom or hotel room, check out the Altec Lansing im600, a compact portable speaker system with integrated radio and an alarm clock. Finally, take advantage of the fifth-generation Nano's onboard voice recording abilities and add inline remote controls with the Griffin SmartTalk.
