If a minisystem or a boombox is too big and intrusive or someone is just a fan of talk radio, a small, classic tabletop radio may be the best solution. The no-bigger-than-a-breadbox size guarantees the ability to fit into tight spots, and the variety of styles and colors available makes it easy to match any decor. Features vary, so be sure to choose one that matches your needs--many are intended to double as upscale alarm clocks, and most have at least an auxiliary input to double as a speaker system for an iPod. But manage your expectations accordingly: some of these systems don't even offer stereo speakers, while other value-added features--iPod docks, CD players, and HD Radio compatibility--can often mean an additional hike in the already rich price tags.
