Cowon's A3 portable video player offers fantastic video format support, built-in DVR functionality, high-quality video output, and amazing screen resolution. The A3 doesn't come cheap, but few devices can match its incredible assortment of features.

Cowon gave the old A2's graphic user interface a good polish, and the result is a much more inviting menu system. We also like that the background image on the A3 can be replaced with your own photo or video still. Despite the new window dressing, however, the A3's mini navigation joystick is just as frustrating to use as the one found on its predecessor.
