You can cram all the features in the world into a gadget, but if no one can afford it, what does it matter? Pound for pound, which device is the better value?

Archos 605 WiFi	4 Sure, they nickel and dime you on the "extras," but at least they got the base price down to a palatable $300 for 30GB...that's $10 per GB to the Touch's $37.50. Yowza.	5 Considering you can get a Flash version of the 605 WiFi for $199, the value of the Archos is incredible. With the money you save you can go buy an extended battery pack that will make the 605 more comparable to the Touch when it comes to battery life.	4 Though the Archos isn't cheapest, the list price for the 160GB model is $399, which is the same as the price of a 16GB iPod Touch. So in terms of value for hard-drive space, the Archos definitely wins out.	13
Apple iPod Touch	2 $300 for 8GB and no memory expansion option?! Ouch! For someone who wants Wi-Fi browsing in a media player, it might be worth it, but this isn't a feature that adds that much value for me.	3 Think of the premium price tag on the iPod Touch like an inflated cover charge at a dance club. The price is high in order to make early adopters feel somewhat exclusive. Unfortunately, with a cooler product like the iPhone out there, the Touch still feels like the poor man's iPhone, even after paying $400 for it.	3 Much like a lot of Apple products, you pay a premium for style, and the iPod Touch is no different. $399 for a 16GB iPod Touch doesn't seem like a lot if compared to other Apple products, but the Archos is still more value for the money in terms of features and hard-drive space.	8
