Do you need the manual to turn it on?

Sexiness is one thing, but are the devices easy to use? In Round 2, we examine the design and usability of the devices' navigation controls and keypad buttons.

I'm a big fan of alphabetic keyboards and the enV(2)'s is one of the best around. It's spacious with tactile buttons and plenty of shortcuts. My only complaint is that the space bars are located on either side of the keyboard.

As usual, the Verizon interface made the phone navigation a bit rough. As a heavy texter, though, I do like having the full QWERTY keyboard.

The enV(2) not only has an external keypad, it has a full-blown QWERTY keyboard underneath the surface. I do wish the keys were a little less crowded.

Touch screens can be hit or miss, but the Vu does a decent job with its display. Though I still prefer tactile buttons, I do prefer AT&T's user interface over Verizon's convoluted menu design. I call it a draw.
4

The Vu's interface is slick and pretty intuitive, as I was able to figure out most functions and menus without problem. The haptic feedback is also nice.
4

The Vu's touch screen is surprisingly easy to use, despite a slight learning curve. There's haptic feedback as well.
