Both the Archos 705 WiFi and the Cowon Q5W have some serious tricks up their sleeves. Cowon's got Bluetooth audio bragging rights, as an optional GPS cradle. Archos brings an advanced digital video recorder option, a removable battery, a larger screen, and higher storage capacity.

Cowon Q5W	4 The rated battery life of 14 hours for audio isn't that great, but everything else shines. It has many features; audio sounds great and video looks good.	5 The people at Cowon must be rocket scientists. Despite my issues with usability, Cowon kills it with audio enhancement, Bluetooth, GPS, handling of Microsoft Office document support, voice messaging, and Flash games.	4 I'm not a super hard-core audiophile, but the sound-enhancement controls add a value that makes a difference. Battery life is longer, but you're getting a smaller screen.	13
Archos 705 WiFi	3 It's solid. Video resolution could be better for the screen size, and audio quality isn't stunning, however, music sounds quite good. It's a jack-of-all trades player with a multitude of features.	4 Battery life, image resolution, and sound quality are only average. Features like the DVR program guide and video rental download portal are very cool. I also dig the removable battery and larger maximum storage capacity.	4 Fewer audio controls don't really hurt it. The battery life isn't as good as the Cowon but look at the size of the screen. That makes up for it.	11
