| Bottom line | The HTC Shift's small size raises some usability issues, and its battery life doesn't match what we'd expect from such a portable device. However, our primary complaint about the Shift is its remarkably high price. | Too large to be a smart device, too small to be a useful Netbook, the import-only Viliv S5 is a neat proof-of-concept that is best for portable media playing. | The new generation of similarly sized Netbooks do more and cost less than the Samsung Q1 Ultra Premium, putting another nail in the UMPC coffin. |
