With screen sizes ranging from 14 - 42 inches and a selection of 4: 3 LCD, 16: 9 HD LCD and 16: 9 HD Plasma models, Toshiba's flat panel series includes TV models to fulfill a broad range of needs and tastes. Toshiba engineers focused on two key issues; creating true-to-life picture quality, and designing sleek, sculptured cabinetry that will accentuate the finest home decor. The Toshiba 42HP83 model features many of the exclusive Toshiba technologies that are found in its CRT based TV sets such as DVI-HDTV inputs for uncompressed, pure digital video, Toshiba's new CrystalScan HDSC all-time HD scan conversion system, CableClear DNR+ video noise reduction which reduces video noise for a clean, crisp image, as well as Cinema Mode (3: 2 Pull Down), color temperature control, color detail enhancer, HD Dynamic Contrast and movie and sports modes. While priding itself on superior picture quality, Toshiba's expanded flat panel line reveals a new focus on cosmetic design. In particular, the 16: 9 HD flat panel models showcase a stunning arch design, a new modern look that when hung on the wall, resembles a piece of fine art. All of Toshiba's flat panel sets may sit on a table, or be mounted on a wall. The sound quality of Toshiba's flat panel TVs is as dynamic as its picture. In addition to the MTS Stereo/SAP with dbx and SRS WOW Sound Enhancement Technology, the widescreen models also feature Virtual Dolby creating a realistic surround experience without additional speakers. Convenience features such as new HD Window Multiscan POP, and an Illuminated A/V universal remote control that can operate up to six components including DVD and audio devices round out the package.
