I get a lot of pop-ups that interfere with daily functions on my computer. I have contacted Microsoft, which had me try many things that didn't work. I use Internet Explorer on a new XP machine.
| | Here are a couple of ideas for you:
- Windows XP SP2 (the new service pack for Windows XP), will block pop-ups within Internet Explorer.
- Download the free Google or Yahoo toolbar plug-in. Not only will they help you search the Internet, they also block pop-ups.
- Try a third-party app, such as our favorite, PopUpCop.
- Switch to Firefox, a free Web browser alternative to Internet Explorer that also serves as a pop-up blocker.
