It seems that a lot of phones now are getting viruses, which is a worrying problem. Will there soon be antivirus programs for Symbian phones?

The issue with viruses and Symbian phones seems to be a bit overblown. That said, as Joni Blecher mentions in her latest column, "There's a new worm, Lasco, wiggling around the mobile world that's transmitted via Bluetooth phones using the Symbian OS." Of course, while many experts claim that it's pretty easy for technological ne'er-do-wells to create viruses that can attack Symbian-based handsets, especially those with Bluetooth-enabled headsets, we haven't seen nearly as many viruses on phones as we have on PCs. Of course, as viruses do appear on Symbian-based phones in serious numbers, trust us, antivirus software makers will be more than happy to sell you antivirus software.
