Google Earth can display third-party vector graphics, GIS imagery, and file types JPEG, GMP, TIFF, TGA, and PNG. However, we found that it takes some patience to accurately drop 3D objects and overlays onto a specific address or geographic coordinates. In this example, we inserted Google's sample KML topographical map of Yosemite onto the national park. You can create overlays to illustrate whatever you dream up, such as changes to the landscape over periods of time.
