Using an iPod charger with other MP3 players

Q
Do iPods use standard USB? That is, will an AC/USB charger that advertises itself as an iPod charger--such as this one listed at Amazon--work for another player, such as the Sansa Express?

I've personally tested the Apple iPod charger with several players--such as the Creative Zen V Plus and the Philips GoGear SA6045--and it worked just fine. Since any "made for iPod" wall charger should use the same specs as the one made by Apple, it follows with logic that any of them should work fine for any USB-charging MP3 player.

For more than three years, Jasmine has covered a variety of tech products for CNET--from scanners to keyboards to GPS devices--but she's happiest where she is now: sitting atop a pile of MP3 players, streaming music from services such as Rhapsody, and watching video after video on a variety of handheld electronics.
