I just love the way Glen installed the LCD panel in the center console with OEM quality, and the use and skinning of the Road Runner GUI look great. I think this is the second car we've seen with the standard 1-DIN car stereo mounted atop the dash, along with the in-car PC.
The PC case may be custom made, but it looks like it came from Cost Plus. Dust is going to arc out that motherboard in a matter of months--it needs to live in something more sealed. And I know it's a pain, but I would definitely take the time to mount the computer in the rear compartment and not under a front seat. That just kills what little passenger room there is in one of the backseats of an Impreza.
By the way, I think too much is being made of the impact risk to in-car hard drives.
Seagate's Momentus 7200 line of notebook drives, for example, is rated at 250 g's (2ms) while operating and 900 g's while parked. If you encounter a 250g-inducing pothole in your Impreza, the least of your worries will be the health of the hard drive!
