Ouch! Now that had to hurt. It looks like the Apple iPod didn't stand a chance against the powerful Toshiba Gigabeat, which came out swinging and didn't stop the entire match. Thanks to its intuitive menu structure, its striking design, and its decent array of features, the Gigabeat battered the iPod to a pulp in every round except Compatibility, where the former champ enjoyed a brief respite with a tie. We shouldn't be too surprised, though, considering the folks over at Toshiba delayed the launch of the Gigabeat S until about six months after the actual announcement. It appears they spent the extra time honing their player for battle against the popular iPod. And they did a darn good job of it, too.
