Round 1: Sexiness
Hot or not?
Design and looks count for a lot when you're shopping for a smart phone, so here's where we examine the look, size, feel, and sex appeal of the devices. Our individual judges' ratings are based on a 0-to-5-point scale, which results in a final score of 0 to 15 per round.

The Blackjack's all-black contoured body definitely beats the Q in sexiness and style. It's a lot more comfortable to hold, too. |

Yet again, Samsung does more than just mimic a popular device--it also improves on it. The BlackJack captures the Q's trademark thin profile, but like the company's MM-A900 Razr imitator, it's much sexier. I like that it's narrower than the Q and that it has a more comfortable feel in the hand. Also, the black color scheme is quite nice. |

Tall, dark, and handsome, the Samsung BlackJack has stolen my heart. It's thinner and sleeker than the Q, making it more comfortable to use as a phone. Plus, the black casing is undeniably sexy. |

Sure, the Q may be skinny, but its silver sheen and boxy shape just do not match the BlackJack's elegant black beauty. |

The Q gets points for bringing thin to the smart-phone form factor, but like with the trend-setting Razr, the Q is boxy and too wide across its front face. Also, I didn't want to hold it too my ear too long when talking. |

The Moto Q is starting to show its age. It certainly was the trendsetter, but its days of being the "it" smart phone are over. |
