Although it didn't win, the Team TerraMax vehicle finished the course, turning in a time of 12 hours, 51 minutes, almost twice that of the winning Stanford team. This massive vehicle is a 15-ton military-grade Oshkosh truck. It has rear-wheel steering to give it a much-needed increase in turning radius. For sensors, it uses five lidars, five cameras, and three GPS units, two of which are equipped with inertial measurement units.
