Virgin Galactic suborbital flight

Virgin Galactic suborbital flight
Virgin hasn't even built the spacecraft yet, though it does have a name: the VSS Enterprise. Based on Burt Rutan's SpaceShipOne, the six-passenger craft will be tested in prototype in 2007, with commercial liftoff expected in 2009. Nevertheless, you can already make your reservation on one of the first flights: a $20,000 down payment or $200,000 if you're ready to pay in full. You'll have to get a medical check and three days of preflight training at the Mojave spaceport to prepare you for zero gravity and travel at three times the speed of sound--you'll reach 360,000 feet in about 90 seconds. No word yet on complimentary pretzels and duty-free space shopping.
