For the executive washroom that has everything, this bidet is a breakthrough product, thanks to high technology and excellent industrial design.
The good: Bolt-on design fits most toilets; amazing number of useful settings; wireless remote.
The bad: Plumbing can be a little ugly once installed; expensive.
Bidets are foreign to Americans, but perhaps not for much longer. Toto's Washlet S300 makes it possible to have one of the most advanced bidets in the world without remodeling your executive washroom.

Toto is the largest toilet manufacturer in the world, but this product is actually just a toilet seat. It bolts on to almost any toilet with simple connections to the existing water supply and an electrical outlet--basic hand tools will do the trick.

Once in place and powered up, the Toto Washlet S300 reveals an amazing array of heaters, nozzles, pumps, and drying fans ready to provide an experience in personal hygiene that would make Howard Hughes grin. It's like sitting on a car wash.

The control center of the Washlet S300 is the wireless remote control, which typically mounts on a nearby wall. It offers controls for water pressure and temperature, seat temperature, fore and aft nozzle position, oscillating vs. pulsating spray, and more. Some digital cameras have fewer settings. If you want to use the Washlet S300 right out of the box, however, don't fret--the big, clear preset buttons get right down to business.

Toto has even built in an algorithm that allows the S300 to learn what days and hours it's typically idle, so it can power down its warming coils and conserve energy when not likely to be in use.

With a list price of almost $1,000 and rock-bottom street prices near $500, this is a pricey item. And we wish Toto could design a slightly tidier way to hide the electrical and water-supply lines once it is installed. But all in all, this is the most amazing office technology you'll ever sit on, Aeron chair included.
