The Apple Power Mac G5 fits all of the above criteria quite nicely (although admittedly, not cheaply), and it lends itself especially well to those who spend long hours in front of multimedia files. If you need your system to perform only basic workaday tasks, both the Dell OptiPlex GX280 and the HP dx5150 offer reliable platforms that are known for ease of maintenance. The PC Club Enpower Silencer and the Sony VAIO V520G would work well where space and style are at a premium--the Sony and its TV tuner especially, if paying attention to the news is important.
