When the Apple iBook debuted on June 21, 1999, it marked the first time you could buy a laptop with a Blueberry or Tangerine color scheme. More colors, brought out in 2000, finally made available computers styled in Graphite, Indigo, and Key Lime. But it was the second-generation iBook, born in 2001, that finally secured Apple's laptop in the aestethics hall of fame. Clean lines, minimalist design, and snow-white coloring mark what is perhaps the most recognizable portable computer on the market today. Others laptop makers have certainly noticed the iBook, and some have even copied its design. We've rounded up a couple of our favorite iBook imitators and put them side by side with the original.
