One of the best parts of working at CNET is the opportunity to interact with an audience as passionate about technology as we are. And judging by our user reviews, some products clearly rouse more passion than others. The laptops below all garnered between 30 and 330 user reviews, from raves (the Apple PowerBook G4) to shrugs (the Averatec C3500). Check them out and be sure to add your opinion to the mix.

Review summary Drop a few pounds and save a few bucks with Dell's Inspiron 700m, a thin-and-light laptop that breaks new ground in design, size, performance, and price. The affordable, versatile Averatec C3500 features an optical drive and a decently sized screen but suffers from inferior battery life and performance. The Dell Inspiron 9300 packs advanced multimedia features and blazing performance for gaming and home or business applications. The foxy Apple 17-inch PowerBook delivers the performance and the features most users will need, but it's more expensive than a similarly outfitted Windows laptop.
