Welcome to CNET's second annual input device roundup--a collection of the coolest, newest, and most interesting gear that'll let you interact with your computer. This year, we've revisited some old favorites, such as Logitech's DiNovo Cordless desktop set and a digital pen tablet from Wacom. We've also seen a number of innovations, including a laser-powered optical mouse from Logitech and exciting refinements in wireless technology that make cordless devices easy to set up and less cumbersome. We're surprised that this year's input device crop includes few Bluetooth devices, as well as the fact that very few vendors have developed rechargeable wireless mice. Overall, though, we're impressed by just how much thought goes into these devices, which most of us take for granted. Holiday shoppers should pay special attention because many of these products will make great gifts.
