LCDs for the cube
Updated January 12, 2006

A nice LCD monitor for your start-up cube doesn't have to be expensive; in fact, a 17-inch display can cost less than $300. And the benefits of LCDs go beyond their sleek look: they're easier on the eyes and display sharper images and text than bulky old CRTs. These professional-looking monitors have a good amount of screen real estate and will accurately display text, Web pages, and other documents. And, since your LCD will likely outlast your computer, think of this as an investment in your company's future.

Review summary Most 17-inch monitors can't match the NEC MultiSync LCD1770VX's clean appearance and ease of use; however, so-so image quality limits the NEC's appeal. The EN7410 is inexpensive, but for a few more beans, you'll get better image quality and adjustability with the Envision EN7220. The feature-starved Sharp LL-173C-B is a low-priced business LCD with average image quality and a corporate appearance. A run-of-the-mill but very adjustable LCD with snap-on accessory cups and photo clips that should appeal to admin assistants and the inveterately sentimental. The Envision EN7600 won't break any molds, but it performs reasonably well, and it's inexpensive.
